RE: It all of a sudden hit me
Dear Business Owner:
I’m sure you’re on Facebook — everyone’s on Facebook.
It didn’t hit me until months later when I realized that I built up all these friends on my personal profile where I should really only be socializing.
And then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
I should have a fan page.
Not only are you able to go beyond the 5,000 person friend limit, you actually get some MAJOR Search Engine Optimization benefits from having a Fan Page.
You should have one not only for yourself — separate and apart from your personal profile (that you should keep secure) — but it’s wise to start one for each site.
Facebook carries a lot of punch and power in Google — so when you create a fan page, you can get that page ranked faster than you can a brand new website or one even a year old.
But the problem is — until Facebook transitioned to the new iFrame way of building web pages, you had to know a lot of code.
Sure — you can do your own fan page, but it’s just not going to have the same touch as one created by us.
At the VERY MINIMUM, you should have a Facebook Badge — much like I do for my own Facebook Fan Page that matches perfectly with my Twitter page as you can see below:

The interesting thing about a fan page, is that you can literally have your whole entire site content load right within the Facebook Page.
For instance — check out this WordPress Plugin called WP Face Pages — make sure to like their Facebook Fan Page to see exactly what I mean.
BUT HERE’S THE BIG PROBLEM WHEN CREATING YOUR OWN FAN PAGE
Some people on Facebook use Secure Browsing where that “https://” which means the web page is secure and encrypted.
Well — in order to completely comply — you need to have a Secure Socket Layer Certificate (or “SSL Cert”) which can cost $199 per year and up.
What we’ve done is completely REMOVE that problem because we’ll host the content directly on our server and won’t charge you the extra.
Furthermore, if you saw that WP Face Pages plugin that allows your content to be hosted on a WordPress blog. That would cost you another $27 extra for a personal license and we’ll spare you the expense.
The reason you should use a WordPress installation is that you will be able to change the content of your Fan Page whenever you wish.
We’ll give you a login point and a user/pass so you can change the content whenever you like.
Furthermore, we’ll even blend in the theme of your website right into the Facebook Fan Page we create and host for you.
Now is the time to get your presence started on Facebook.
